Virginia C. Dailey

Virginia C. Dailey has more than twenty years of experience representing clients in private practice and providing innovative solutions to help clients achieve their strategic objectives. Mrs. Dailey earned two degrees from Florida State University in Tallahassee, beginning with a Bachelors of Science in Business in 1992, and followed by a Juris Doctorate, summa cum laude, in 1999.

Mrs. Dailey began her legal career overseas. From 1999 to 2005, Mrs. Dailey represented foreign governments and companies in international litigation and arbitration proceedings, working in Washington, D.C., and London.  In addition to traditional legal skills, this work involved extensive cultural awareness, communication skills of every type, interpersonal mediation skills, and innovative conflict resolution strategies. For example, while representing the Government of Ethiopia in litigation over a boundary dispute with the Government of Eritrea, Mrs. Dailey participated in the litigation of legal violations relating to the laws of war and humanitarian violations. Mrs. Dailey learned in this work that interpersonal relationships built on integrity and professionalism are valuable assets for clients.

Moving to Florida in 2005, Mrs. Dailey began practicing in the area of Florida administrative and regulatory representation. Mrs. Dailey was recognized as early as 2007 by Florida Trend’s Legal Elite for her practice in administrative law. In Mrs. Dailey’s legal practice in Tallahassee, Mrs. Dailey represented Florida electric utilities in areas involving Florida law, including regulatory and permitting approvals for capital projects and programs, rule making work, and other related areas. This work involved extensive experience in state administrative law throughout Florida, as well as comprehensive legal strategizing across the spectrum of issues, from anticipating and mitigating litigation and liability risk to handling litigation when it arose. Mrs. Dailey has been involved in the certification of nearly every high-voltage transmission line proposed in Florida since 2005.

She has advised and litigated on behalf of clients in various procurement matters within the state of Florida. Mrs. Dailey’s philosophy is to offer clients as many “tools” in the legal, political, legislative and public relations toolbox as possible in order to help clients achieve their strategic objectives.

Mrs. Dailey has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Florida State University College of Law, teaching courses in litigation skills and international dispute resolution.

Mrs. Dailey’s lifelong dedication to community and public service is demonstrated by her volunteer activities. Mrs. Dailey provided pro bono legal services to the Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) and served on the local board of directors for ten years. Mrs. Dailey has represented CHS in adoption cases in local courts as well as represented CHS in the area of legislative affairs in the Florida Legislature and with state agencies. Mrs. Dailey continues to serve as a host family for CHS students visiting Tallahassee. Mrs. Dailey has also served as a founding member of the board of directors for Independence Landing, a housing community for adults with disabilities. Mrs. Dailey has also served as an officer with the Sister Girls Network, an organization working to unite women to break down barriers and build community.
